Dash Cam hardwire fuses

Almost went with fitcam but it doesn't have motion detection, something I would like. Anyway, most other dash cams require standard constant and accessory connections...I do see accessory (45) but not sure on constant, option (5)?... Guess I'll test some out and record my findings.. Anyone have suggestions, feel free to add.

Ended up using 5 for switching and 52 for constant, ground connected to base of parking sensor bracket.

thanks, i just installed my g900 yesterday with the 12v cigarette plug, it looks clean when its hardwire plus i can yung use the parkingg mode

I plugged mine into the OBD port has a switch with a camera could remain on all the time or just when the vehicle is on... You can buy USB C connector or standard or old now digicam connector

I started using on a Ridgeline and then transferred it to the pilot last year so about 3 years.. It only Taps off the hot 5 volt which I wanted because she could leave the camera on if you want or you can have the camera turned off. I didn't want to mess with fuse boxes and all that. I ran the wire underneath the top down the a pillar underneath the rubber molding and right there to the OBD port

Wow! I didn’t know these exist. I was waiting for one company to update their harness for the PP. They make harnesses for dash-cam that gets powered from the rear view mirror. Right on!

No I haven't because I don't leave the camera on there's a switch where you can leave it on like say you want to park it somewhere for a couple hours and you want to leave the camera on. When the vehicle is switched on the camera starts up even when the it's in off mode.. I think most cameras are plugged in to non hot wired fuses and only work when the car is turned on. This method gives you an option... For me I just like that it was Plug and Play. And I transferred it from vehicle to vehicle easy no crawling around doing yoga under the dash

The camera will turn on when in parking mode. The Hardwire kit I used has a switch to pick how low the battery goes before it disables. I saw the obd style, my reluctance was:
-built in parking mode... Camera's usually already have this. Your camera would have to have parking disabled to use this. Plus my camera has motion detect, this will not work with the obd plug.
- clean install: obd outlet is towards the front, plug would hang down low with a cord... Seems messier. Hiding the cord is the hard part which you have to do either way.

i have g9000 pro, so far since it was installed i never had problem with it, i use OBD connect to power the dashcam

I haven't taken delivery of my 26 Trailsport yet, so wondering if someone knows offhand the wattage for 12V outlets? Since the AC inverter is a measley 150W

I had my blackvue front and rear camera pulled off my subaru and will install it tomorrow on the TSE. I'd do it myself but yikes, no. We have a new jersey tattooed car wiring dude local.
