Infotainment issues

Anyone having issues connecting the infotainment system to an iPhone 17 pro max hotspot so I can use Google assistant.

I've got an iPhone 16 Pro Max running the latest OS, but I had a LOT of trouble with getting it connected and keeping it connected on my 2026 Passport. It's a strange thing since some iPhone owners claim it's working for them and other claim they've tried every conceivable setting and it's anything from a little buggy to outright flaky. I finally solved it by using a wireless CarPlay adapter. The one I bought worked perfectly out of the box and has worked perfectly since. Let me know if you want me to post a link.

Please post the link. I have the 17 pro max with the current OS and have to constantly reboot the phone to get it to connect. I’m very close to going ahead and getting this: https://www.xm-radio-satellite.com/products/honda-siriusxm-radio-oem-factory-radio-kit. It’s pricey but to me might be worth it. Dealing with the constant connection issues with car play is pushing me over the edge. I was told the vehicle came with siriusxm. If I had known it didn’t I wouldn’t have bought the vehicle. I live in an area being developed and have very little cell towers. My phone connection goes in and out dropping cell service/connection frequently. I also travel to the mountains several times a year and there is zero cell service. For me, it’s so much easier just to have that siriusxm availability.

That must be really frustrating. I can hopefully help you with CarPlay staying connected, and I think, since iPhone has a GPS receiver, at least you may be able to get Maps to work consistently (which was my priority). I should mention that the price has come up on this one a lot since I bought mine (3 actually. 1 for me and 2 for other family members.) They had been on sale. But, here's the thing: I know it works in my 2026 Passport. I can't speak for any other model or version.

PS. I don't think you can use this and the Sirius car radio at the same time since they use the same USB port. Maybe consider an in-car cellular booster.
