MyQ App use without having to pay outragous Hondalink annual coat.

My new 2026 Passport TrailSport Elite does not have A Homelink Button like my previous vehicle did. I have a Chamberlain opener that function with the MyQ App. But I see no easy or inexpensive way to do that. To use Hondalink there is an annual subscription and MyQ also wants an annual subscription integration fee. It appears that there is really no easy way to integrate MyQ into Apple CarPlay. This is so standard now I really can’t believe there is not a solution that is simple. Any ideas out there. I may have to go old school and use a door opener.

You can get the upgraded rear view mirror for around $300 USD and they have the HomeLink buttons on them.

I opted to use my opener on my visor.

Yes that is a very practical approach. In fact i have my second chamberlain opener on the visor now. But I always think that is a “good” thing to steel and gain access to porperty? I liked it when i didn’t have to have it in the vehicle, but the alternative coat now is steep.

Me too, that is a solution but a bit lesss handy than if in CarPlay. I really thought a shortcut could make it work with Siri but guess not anymore.
