New Passport in Reno, NV

Just picked up a 2026 White Passport TSE today. Looking forward to many miles of enjoyment out of it. Dealer is installing PPF and window tint (35% front and 15% rear). I have a lot of things I would like to do in the near future and look forward to seeing what others are doing with theirs Looking at: 1. Oil catch can to prevent intake carbon buildup, 2. Device to disable the idle stop system permanently, 3. Divice to disable the VCM (variable cylinder management) system permanently.

Hello @Morpheus -- welcome to the site and congratulations on your new vehicle. I'm not a huge fan of catch cans on modern vehicles but that's definitely up to you. The other mods I think everyone has discussed here already so you should have info available with a search.

I'm like you, tint is one of the first things I do. What is your dealer charging for the PPF if you don't mind me asking?

They charged $2,000. I thought it was an OK deal, considering they are going to do the front including the headlights, the entire hood, both front quarter panels, the mirror caps, and the roof up to the sunroof.

That's cheaper than I've seen here by professional shops but I haven't priced it at the dealership. Do you know what brand PPF they use?

It is Llumar PPF. . . . . .I ordinarily wouldn't go through the dealership, but the outside shop they use is the shop I have had do window tinting and PPF on the last 4 or 5 cars I have had done. They always do a great job. Also, they had a CR-V in the showroom that had the PPF on it and I honestly couldn't tell it had PPF on it it looked so good! The only seam I could see was on the roof where either ended at the sunroof. It looked fantastic! Fingers crossed mine will look as good when I pick it up tomorrow.

For anyone in Reno, Trimline always does a fantastic job. PPF and tint look flawless.

Looks like it turned out great, and at a really good price too! It’s quite a bit more expensive to have that kind of work done around my area.

It might be able to travel somewhere where it is cheaper. Of course then warranty service is an issue if needed :/
