Wireless Charging

Does any have strong feelings pro or con on the wireless charging? My previous ride was a 2015 4Runner so first time having a car with this feature.

My experience so far (purchased December 2025) has been pretty meh. I'm finding that even on longer drives I only gain a couple percent or even just maintain existing charge. I do try to close all apps except what I'm using in the car (Waze, SiriusXM, Apple Podcast). Granted, I'm charging an iPhone 14 that is 3+ years old so that may have something to do with it.

It's a pretty minor "nit", but just trying to determine if my charger isn't working properly or I need to adjust my expectation.

I wonder if its not gaining much because its connected to Apple Carplay and using Google maps for directions? But yeah I’m needing to get around to putting a charging cable in there and a phone holder but I don’t want it to look messy so I’m using the warming plate for now haha. Dang that thing gets hot.

We’ve had our TS over a year now and the wireless charger sucks. Just about every PP owner has the same issue. It’s almost worthless. If I want to charge my phone I plug it in. Others have purchased a aftermarket wireless charger to go in the same spot.

Huh? Guess I should pay more attention. First wireless charging I have experienced. I have not analyzed it. Seems very handy and I’ve never gotten out and said why has t my phone charged! Guess I’ll have to look before and after. I will say it generates a lot of heat. I carry phone in side pocket and have on a couple of ocgot out at destination places in my pocket and went wow! Frankly I was more concerned that with all that heating if my battery was paying a price!

FWIW, my parents got a new accord and the w-charger sux as well. not sure it's PP specific but I dunno.

I had a wireless charger in my 2020 passport elite and it was worthless, the 2026 isn’t any better.

So what’s the best way to charge your phone, just bring a cable? Someone said they have aftermarket wireless chargers that replace the stock one? Anyone try that or heard of that?
