All my experience in this is with Wranglers so my expectation is that you will not be able to put on a modification that significantly moves a needle in any direction. My wife wants to do this, and I am fine with a 1.5 lift because it looks good and of course gets the body up a little more.
My practical side says you lift to get a taller tire and therefor get more ground clearance. So, I am thinking a 265 65 R18 is about a 2% (1/2 inch) change in diameter but not width. This will probably avoid rubbing. It might not be enough to throw the speedo off more than a few mph. Those with real world examples could chime in with their efforts.

Please keep us posted with what you discover. Any thoughts about spacers?

We have been researching the more expensive accessories and modifications. Since I cannot afford them all right now at least, I thought I would generate a discussion about what accessories people have and how useful they find them to be. So, feel free to chime in with what you have and your assessment of it. I would like to avoid discussing things like floor mats. I am on board that those are useful to help protect the carpet and the cargo area.

My start is with the Roof Platform. Since I have owned Jeep Wranglers for years, I believe my platforms and baskets were handy for strapping on odd ball items as well as throwing dirty items up on top verses putting them inside. I recently purchased one and installed it.

So, does this platform attach to the corss bars or the side rails? Trying to find a platform for some paddle boards that are easy to take on and off. Don't need the platform except for long travel. top mexico.

Side rails. Sounds like you should look at Thule or Yakuma cross bars

I am not considering a lift kit myself for various reasons, but I do understand the reasons for wanting them. I would be curious to know though for anyone who does add the lift kits and larger tires if they experience and suspension, steering component, transmission issues, or increased break wear over time due to the additional torque caused from having larger heavier tires then OEM.

We added the OEM tube step running boards. Easy to do, feel sturdy and very light weight. They are very useable when you open the doors, especially for loading the roof platform. An improvement suggestion would be to square off the rear section more to create more useable step towards the rear wheel. On the car the symmetrical tube design looks good though.

I’m also thinking about running boards. Those look great!

Regarding the lift kit, I went with JSport's HRC approved 1.5" kit. But, I'm not contemplating changing the tires -- at least not yet.

To my eye, Honda built the new Passport a little too low to the ground. I found that adding JSport's lift kit made it sit the way (I think) Honda should have built it to begin with.

The lifted Passport still sits perfectly on the road, cornering, etc. As far as tires are concerned, if I stand next to one of them, it strikes me as plenty large enough. From what I've seen elsewhere, what size tire that will fit without rubbing, even with the lift, is a very minor size increase.

I'll attach my before and after pictures. You can also find these right on the JSport site. As I mentioned in another post, I'm a bit of a JSport fan. Going back and forth with email, I've made a friend there but I'm in no way affiliated with them. I just sent them the before/after pictures and they decided to use them.

A few.. Instead of buying those plastic dividers I decided to cut boxes of various sizes so things fit better., today I'm adding black tips mud guards and some, piano black trim pieces

Looks like it's ready to tackle some off-road terrain! Do they recommend aligning it after the lift installation?

I found it needed wheel alignment after the installation. Apparently, the mechanic test drove it and thought it was fine, but I pushed and when he put it on the alignment machinery he discovered it was out -- a lot.

I did not change out the factory tires. Really didn't see the need. Plus I don't think I can bring myself to deep six a perfectly good set of tires, specifically engineered for this exact vehicle. I have had zero problems due to the JSport lift, which was designed under the supervision of HRC.

I have lifted Jeeps and trucks. They always need alignment. After one thousand miles or so you should recheck the torque on the new nuts and bolts.

Ever since installing JSport’s 1.5” lift kit, (highly recommended) and also got their rear differential skid plate, something Honda should offer given the complexity of the rear differential, I’ve been watching their website for new products for my Passport.

I’ve become a fan of the company. Ended up making friends with someone there and I visit the site frequently hoping to find the next interesting new accessory.

They’ve been coming out with more 2026 Passport enhancements and it looks like there are other accessories coming soon. But, right now they are doing a **giveaway** — and it’s a good one — a complete set of skid plates — if you enter.

Hey Steve, like you I am in the camp of just wanting a smidge more ground clearance underneath even if not at the control arms...and given strut spacer vs spring, generally not a terrible issue or leading to funky ride and spring alignment ailments that plague Jeeps with spacer lifts.

Seeing you are on the site, I'm guessing you are CA based, did you work with a dealer to install as well or directly with JSport? I thought I saw somewhere that others had their Honda dealer install the JSport lift, but mine was in the "absolutely not" camp - so wondering if that's something I need to bridge JSport and my dealer (East Coaster here) and see if that's something that's possible or just look for another installer that will do the alignment after.

How are you liking it since the install, and did you notice any signifcant dip in MPG since you kept the stock tires?

Given there are no "pumpkins" under the Passport, we have a different situation than a solid axle vehicle would need. What we get is body clearance with some extra room for the components that move with the body, right?

I'm not in CA. I'm in NJ. I just brought the kit to my trusted local mechanic and one of his mechanics put it in and did the alignment. Zero problems.

I'm really happy with it. We'll get to the spacers in your other question along with another mod I made that's been working well for me. See the other conversation between us.
